Food Blog Conference and MB Mondays

Shindigs has had some great reviews lately! They attended the Food Blog South Conference and everyone was raving about the Shindigs Truck. Click Here to read an article talking about the Food Blog South Conference.
Here is the tid bit on Shindigs:
"Given the layout of the room, HCP was actually quite fortunate in that we were positioned right near the lunch service, which was being provided by Shindigs Catering. They were bringing in tray after tray of hearty Southern fare, so I was gearing up for lunch around 11am…hard to keep your attention on anything else with a rumbling stomach. I was blown away by the food they had on offer, which included braised beef, broccoli rabe with sautéed garlic (the garlic was so good, I was eating it whole), a pilaf smothered with mushrooms and gravy, as well as (what looked like) cranberry stuffed meatballs and spaghetti squash, all cooked tremendously well. Everyone was raving about it, and I went back for seconds. It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had on the conference circuit (rivaled perhaps only by the raw bar at IFBC), and that was for lunch!"

In another blog post of his he said this:
"Saturday was spent almost entirely engaged with Food Blog South, an experience unto itself that is chronicled in a separate post. All I can say is that the lunch service from Shindigs Catering (they also have a food truck) was some of the best food I’ve had at a blogging conference."

MOUNTAIN BROOK MONDAYS:
It was SO successful...almost too successful! I think I hyped it up too much:). It's better that way than the other way, I guess!!!?
Regardless, we learned a few things and hopefully it will make that day a little smoother. It will definitely be a  first come, first serve basis. No more phone call orders to-go and/or large office orders (i.e. Village Dermatology (where I work ;) It is important for the truck to cater to those who are there and waiting.

Here is the line from the first day.

They have these fold up, portable picnic tables that they got off of Amazon, and they are great for providing some seating on such a pretty day. He just bought 2 more!

Ford supported Daddy's work all day!

 Twitter was blowing up...

Other Tweets:
"Planned on running during my lunch break, but ended up eating

"I had the  Special for lunch today. Pork picatta w/ parmigian grits, pea tendrils, & preserved lemon-caper beurre blanc."

"Thx ....superb and fresh lunch !"

"And gluten-free! RT : Amazing vegan meatballs & spaghetti squash from  for lunch. SO delicious!"

one of my favorite tweets...
"This plate o' goodness from  is kind of ridiculous.
I'm gonna slap somebody, y'all.  "

Just to get your mouth watering...

The Farro Salad is also super healthy and delicious. And, I never leave without getting some truffle fries to pass around with their yogurt dipping sauce!!
It. Is. So. Yummy!

The second Monday they came out, Mac actually got to get out of the truck and walk around a bit...
even got to visit with his son and show him off;)!

I can't wait for spring and summer... it will be a fun place to stop by and get some healthy food fast!

Ford @ 4 Months

Ford is now 4 months! He is a big boy, still in the 90% percentile in height and weight and 95% in the head! He is starting to roll from his back to his front. He will sling his legs over and I will tease him with a toy to the side to help motivate him to keep going! He is so close!

The doctor says you are "perfect" and "soaring." In the next couple of weeks, I will be feeding you rice cereal one time a day and eventually two times a day. I am thinking you are going to LOVE it, as you always look pretty jealous when you watch me eat "real" food.

The Kickin' Coaster is starting to get old now... you prefer the Johnny Jump up. Not to mention, you are about to out grow the Coaster!

We celebrated one of your best friends birthdays ;)...Jackson turned 1! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I absolutely love playing with you all day and miss you when I am away at work...

Your cousins LOVE you. Especially Lillian... she calls you "my cousin" instead of your name, Ford. She loves to tell people that you are her "cousin." She will even come up to you, and in her sweet little voice say, "Hey, cousin. Heeeeyyy...."

King Ford IV! Olivia loves to pick you up and try to walk around with you. She is working on being the best babysitter ever!

So we put you in the swing for the first time! Of course, we had to tuck a blanket behind you and make you nice and snug...but you LOVED IT

It was so fun to hear you laugh...

You also enjoy watching Mom make a fool of herself on the trampoline. I am assuming I look like a live Jack-in-the-box because I go in and out of your view, and when I come back in, you start to laugh at me.

You are also starting to grab my iPhone....because it is always in your face! ;)
